Accessibility
Last updated October 2026
Everyone should be able to learn about money, including people who use a keyboard instead of a mouse, a screen reader, magnification, or who are sensitive to motion. Our target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA.
Where we are
Beacon has not yet been through an independent accessibility audit, so we do not claim that it fully conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA. We test our own work as we build it, and we fix the problems people report.
What is built in
- A “Skip to content” link at the top of public pages, and real headings, landmarks and labels throughout.
- Everything that matters can be done with a keyboard. Questions that ask you to put things in order can be answered with move up and move down buttons as well as dragging, and each move is announced to screen readers.
- Answers, errors and progress changes are announced to screen readers as they happen.
- A reduced motion setting in Settings, and Beacon also follows your device’s own setting.
- Light and dark themes, and text that scales when you change your browser’s text size.
- The whole product is available in English and Spanish, and each page declares its language.
- Touch targets sized for fingers, and layouts that work from phone to desktop.
Known gaps
- Some of the charts and illustrations inside lessons explain an idea visually, and not every one has a complete text description yet. The lesson text always states the point they make.
- Calculators and simulators are interactive and have not been tested with every screen reader.
- Some pages were written before our current standards and may fall short in places, such as color contrast or the order of focus.
We are working through these, and we would rather hear about one than have you struggle with it.
Tell us, and we will help
If something on Beacon is hard or impossible to use, or you need information in another form, email support@lighthousecompanies.pro with the page and what happened. We aim to reply within five business days, and to offer another way to get what you need while we fix the problem. We do not charge for this.
