Beacon is operated by Lighthouse Companies, LLC. These are the other companies that process personal data on our behalf in order to run Beacon. Each is bound by a written agreement to use that data only to provide its service to us, and to protect it. We use no third-party advertising, analytics or session-recording services, and we do not sell personal information.
Who processes data for us
| Company | What it does for Beacon | Data it handles | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Railway Corp. | Hosts the Beacon application and its database. | Everything Beacon stores: accounts, learning progress, saved figures and logs. | United States |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payments and subscription management for paid plans. | Email address and name to create the customer, plan and invoice details. Card details are entered on Stripe’s own pages and never reach Beacon. | United States |
| Resend | Delivers sign-in links and the account, billing and notification email Beacon sends. | Recipient email address, name and the content of each message. | United States |
| Google LLC | Continue with Google sign-in, for members who choose it. | Google tells Beacon the member’s Google account ID, name and email address. Beacon sends Google nothing about the member. | United States |
| Anthropic, PBC | Writes a fresh explanation of a question when a member on a plan that includes it asks for one. Used only when that feature is switched on. | The question and the explanation being read. Nothing that identifies the member is sent with them. | United States |
| Browser push services (Apple, Google, Mozilla, Microsoft) | Carry the push notifications a member turns on, to that member’s own browser or phone. | The notification, encrypted so the push service cannot read it, and the device’s push address. | Varies by the member’s browser |
When this list changes
We update this page before a new subprocessor starts handling personal data, and the date at the top changes with it. Organizations with a signed Data Processing Addendum are told by email at least 30 days before the change and can object, as that addendum describes. To be told about changes, or to ask about any entry, write to support@lighthousecompanies.pro.
