Questions worth answering

Is the free plan actually useful?

Yes, on purpose. Money Foundations and Credit Basics are real courses, not samples: paychecks, budgeting, cash flow, emergency funds, credit reports, scores and utilization. Paid plans add more; they do not repair a free plan that was broken on purpose. There is no time limit and no card to start.

Plus or Pro: which should I pick?

Start with Plus if you want the whole map: all nine categories, your Financial Knowledge Score, review mode and boss challenges. Choose Pro if a big decision is coming — buying a home, planning retirement — and you want the expert lessons, the Advanced Housing module, the rent vs buy and car financing simulators, and recommendations pinpointed to the exact topic you keep missing.

Does my plan renew automatically?

Yes. Plans renew each month or each year until you cancel. Cancel any time in Settings → Billing and you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. We do not give partial refunds for unused time, except where the law requires it.

What happens to my progress if I cancel?

You move back to Free. Your XP, level, achievements, streak and full history stay on your account, and if you subscribe again you pick up exactly where you left off. Nothing you have learned is taken away.

What does the Financial Knowledge Score measure?

It is a number from 0 to 1,000 that reflects what you have shown you understand, rather than how long you have spent. Harder questions count for more, breadth across categories matters, and only your latest answer to each question counts, so repeating easy questions will not inflate it. Seeing it is part of Plus, and every answer you give on Free already feeds into it.

Do you need my bank details?

No. Beacon never asks for bank accounts, card numbers, credit scores or Social Security numbers. Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, and card details never touch our servers.

What if my payment fails?

Your access continues during a grace period while Stripe retries — a declined card is usually an expired card, not a decision to leave. You will get an email and a clear prompt to update your payment method.

Is this financial advice?

No. Beacon is education. It explains how things work and lets you model your own numbers, but it does not know your full circumstances and cannot tell you what to do. For decisions with real consequences, talk to a qualified professional.

The first 18 lessons cost nothing
